Control Interval and Data sampling speed

SmartManager controls DAC to update control value and controls ADC to get data sampling.

DAC control speed is 50MHz and ADC sampling speed is 50usec (burst mode) and 2usec (fast sweep).

1.       Constant (G,P,Crate,OCP) control/ZRA control

For Constant potential, constant current, constant ocp, constant Crate control,

l  DAC updating rate(control rate): DAC will keep same value per constant control step

l  Max. ADC sampling rate

n  Normal: per 1msec

n  Burst: per 50usec

2.       Constant(power,load) control

For Constant power, load control,

l  DAC updating rate (control rate): DAC will change control value every 50usec. Smartmanager read voltage value every 50usec and calculate current value for control by equation as I=P/V (constant power control), I=V/R (constant load control) and change calculated current control value every 50usec.

l  Max ADC sampling rate

n  Normal: per 1msec

n  Burst: per 50usec

3.       STEP(staircase) control

For Potentiostatic staircase/ Galvanostatic stair case,

l  DAC updating rate (control rate): DAC will change every step height. Time resolution is 50usec. Smartmanager control dac value as constant DAC value interval with constant time interval.

l  ADC sampling rate

n  Raw data Max sampling rate: 50usec

n  Averaging data sampling: Last one point, 10%, 20%,50%,100%

4.       Pulse(Pstat,Gstat) control

For Potentiostatic/Galvanostatic pulse control,

l  DAC updating rate (control rate): DAC will change every pulse width. Minimum time duration is 50usec.

l  Max ADC sampling rate

n  per 50usec

l  Min pulse width: 50usec

l  Max pulse width: unlimited.

5.       Pulse(PSine,GSine) control

For sine pulse control,

l  DAC updating rate (control rate): DAC updating rate is depending on sine wave frequency.

l  Max ADC sampling rate

n  Normal: per 1msec

n  Burst: per 50usec

6.       Rest control

For rest control,

l  DAC updating rate(control rate): DAC do not change on Rest

l  Max ADC sampling rate

n  Normal: per 1msec

n  Burst: per 50usec

7.       EIS/FRA control

For EIS/FRA control,

l  DAC updating rate (control rate): DAC updating rate is depending on sine wave frequency. Fastest updating rate is 32MHz

n  Max ADC sampling rate: 2usec. Depending on sine wave frequency.

ü  (Note: SP1,PP1e,MP1 does not support FRA function).

8.       Sweep(GSTAT,PSTAT) control

For Potentiostatic or Galvanostatic sweep control,

l  DAC updating rate (control rate): DAC will change every control bit (for low sweep rate) or every 50usec (for fast sweep rate). Time resolution is 50usec. Smartmanager control dac value as constant DAC value interval with constant time interval.

l  Max ADC sampling rate

n  Fastest data sampling: 50usec

For example 200V/sec sweep rate using potentiostatic sweep mode, control voltage interval is 10mV(DAC control changes per every 10mV: 200V/s*50usec=10mV  and data sampling interval is 10mV(200V/s*50usec=10mV)

For faster experiment, you need to use fast sweep function.

9.       Fast Sweep(GSTAT,PSTAT) control

 

Smart manager support fast sweep with fast sampling mode. When you select FAST-P or FAST-G in sweep mode using sequence editor or Fast potential sweep, fast LSV, fast CV using technique menu,

l  DAC updating rate is 5MHz. SmartManager can change DAC value per 200nsec.

l  ADC updating rate is 500kHz. SmartManager can read data per 2usec.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


For example 5000V/sec sweep rate using fast-P mode, control voltage interval is 1mV(DAC control changes per every 1mV: 5000V/s*200nsec=1mV ) and data sampling interval is 10mV(5000V/s*2usec=10mV)

If you set 10,000V/sec, then control interval is per every 2mV and data sampling interval will be per every 20mV.
